U.S. Army Issues Noise Advisory In Dublin Amid Salute Ceremony

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin residents may hear some alarmingly loud noises on Tuesday morning as the U.S. Army will conduct a saluting battery or a canon firing to honor the life of a combat medic from Pleasanton who was killed in action in 2011. Noise advisories have been issued for both Monday and Tuesday. Residents can expect to hear some booming sounds on Monday around noon, officials from the Camp Parks Reserve Forces Traning Area in Dublin said. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and residents can expect to hear 11 rounds fired. Pleasanton resident Jameson L. Lindskog, 23, was a combat medic who was killed in action March 29, 2011 while serving in Afghanistan with the 2nd Batallion, 327th Infantry Regiment and 1st Brigade Combat Team. "Lindskog, despite being mortally wounded, continued to issue instructions and provide emergency medical care to both U.S. and Afghan National Army Soldiers," James C. O'Donnell, PRFTA public affairs officer, said in a statement. Lindskog was awarded posthumously a Silver Star Medal for his bravery, the statement said.
