Wow. Thanks for all the great responses to The Shiny New Object; UFO's post. Very cool to all of you with comments and input. I am sorry litescam that you misunderstood my not believing as to that I will never believe. I have just never witnessed such an event. However, one of my best friends swears up and down to an event he and several people witnessed up close and swears by it to this day. I do not doubt his story at all. What he saw is his personal experience but I have never seen such a thing. Compare that to someone telling you a very gruesome horror war story and you saying "That can't happen" because you can't imagine it and you did not see it. That doesn't mean it can not or did not happen. As far as ancient aliens seeding the Earth in the past for future studies, maybe, maybe not. Still more speculation as to what the heck friendly or hostile aliens would act like. It can not really be predicted or prepared for with absolutely none, whatsoever fact to start with. Aliens that are carbon life forms? Silicon? Helium? Again, no fact to start with. None. No square one. Nothing we know for absolute sure. Nada. Luckily the aliens in "Independence Day" had a DOS based computer system that could be virus infected by us mere humans. Thanks Bill Gates. Boy, that saved the day. LOL. Who knew his Windows would operate all the computers in the entire galaxy? One of the best movies conveying alien contact would have to be Arrival (2016). The communication barrier, the human hysteria, the intent of both aliens and humans and the eventual outcome (won't be a spoiler) of the first contact is extremely mind bending and well thought out. It is based on a short story by Ted Chiang. I was going to end that here but the point must be on the communication factor and something that is TOTALLY outside almost any and everything we have conceived. And that is my point. We don't know how, what, why, if, when or even have any concept whatsoever as to what would happen if contact were to occur. So speculation at this time according to Spock is pointless. In the words of Arthur Dent, "Don't Panic." I guess to remain loyal to the political section Trump is a big dodo head. And orange. Maybe a lizard alien too.
