Northport Temporarily Closing Stretch Of Main Avenue Monday

NORTHPORT, AL — Motorists are advised to use caution beginning Monday as the City of Northport will close the intersection of Main Avenue and 30th Avenue until Monday, July 12. Click here for a map of the Main Avenue road closure. Those traveling south will be able to detour by turning left onto 30th Street, turning right onto 26th Avenue or turning right onto 23rd Street back to Main Avenue. For northbound travelers needing a detour, turn right onto 23rd Street, left onto 26th Avenue or left onto 30th Street back to Main Avenue. As Patch previously reported, the city also announced an extended closure of Union Chapel Road set to begin today, as well. The road will be closed 300 feet east of Barnes Settlement Road and 1400 feet west of Chapelwood Lane beginning Monday at 7:00 a.m. Union Chapel Road will remain closed until July 10 for repairs.
