Intermountain Landscaping now hiring for position on garden maintenance crew. May through October. Must be available Monday through Friday, FULL-TIME, 40 to 45 hours per week. Previous experience with perennial and annual flowers highly valued and reflected in pay. Location: Minturn, Colorado Pay: $17/hr.-$23/hr., depending on experience Job Purpose: To maintain garden areas at residential and commercial properties. Duties & Responsibilities: As a team; using hand-tools to weed gardens, trim flowers and shrubs, turn soils, cultivate soils, and remove tree roots as encountered. Filling 20 gallon tubs with debris and carrying to/dumping into truck for haul-off. Staking of flower blossoms to prevent breaking. Application of granular fertilizers and herbicides. Application of liquid herbicides (once trained). Thorough clean-up of properties required by raking, sweeping, and using air-blowers. Must be willing to assist other crews with flower planting, hand-watering, mulching, and other simple labor tasks. Compliance with health & safety practices is expected, as well as an attitude of professionalism. Qualifications & Training: - Previous experience with gardening not necessary, but valued. - Driver's license and insurable driving record required Competence Summary: - Understanding of health & safety responsiblilites. - Willingness to gain basic plant knowledge. Must learn plant species. - Ability to complete all tasks to an agreed standard/quality. Work-Related Personal Requirements: - Physically able to carry-out the role. Able to carry 35 lbs. and manage steep/varied terrain. Able to stand/squat/kneel for 10-hour shift. - Committed and able to work as part of a team. - Hard working. - Ability to maintain motivation and positive attitude during repetitive tasks. - Conscientious & reliable. - Punctual. - Flexible attitude to work. - Good communication skills. - Ability to work seasonally (May-October).
