Description

Small class...3 students maximum. Retired artist willing to shared her decades of experience to give lessons in the basics of art design. This means, there are general guidelines when creating art that we find attract viewers; mood, line, color, and placements will all be studied over three lessons, once a week. (three week commitment) Students will need to bring a notebook and at least three magazines to the first class. The magazines must be quite different from each other. A book of great art works can be borrowed from the library and we can use that also to study this subject matter. In class #3 students are welcome to bring watercolors, paper, and colored pencil to practice the essential guidelines and to explore breaking the rules. Art Basics is one of the most valuable tools for aspiring artists and can even apply to three dimensional arts, though most often applied to framed art. Each class will last about one hour. Students must be over 25 yrs old and be ready to pay $10 per class. Now, here is the hardest rule of all; cell phones must be left outside, in your car. If you miss a part of a class, or a whole class, there will be no repeat to allow you to "catch up".
