You obviously don't understand the need for voter ID. It is not to restrict legal citizens from voting just illegal people from voting. So yes, we need voter ID to make sure only legal people vote. Any legal citizen can get a free ID. Only people who want illegals to vote are against voter ID because that is the only way they can win. Just because you are in this country, even legally, doesn't mean you have the right to vote. The Constitution says citizens, not residents may vote. Why don't the dims fight for our legal citizens the way they fight for illegal residents? I would love for someone to name a citizen who is not able to get an ID?
