Bassist/Singer Seeking Jam Band/Mates

Description

Do you consider yourself a “musical jukebox” who loves to jam on anything and everything that gets stuck in your head? Do other musicians/leaders in ensembles tend to tell you that your playing is too “busy” or “much”, and tell you to stick to what’s overplayed in your genre? Would you rather vibe with a dedicated crew of similarly-flexible pro-to-be's who are in it for the fun of playing for fans more than simping for Big Music Industry? Are you looking to be a part of said group and seize the post-COVID surge of live-music gigging opportunities? I’m a 25M bassist/singer who’s looking for founding members of an experimental jam/rock band (Phish inspired, but not a firm direction). My musical influences are (broadly) 70s and 90s alt rock, grunge, shoegaze, dream pop, post-rock, jazz/funk, lo-fi, modern R&B, and memes. I’m down to play whatever we as a group vibe with and am excited to see where it goes from there. If you’re tired of playing with people who don’t get lost in music the way you do, you’re looking for me. If you think you agree, make sure that you are: - Diversely proficient in (and passionate about) one or more of the following instruments: drums, lead guitar, rhythm guitar (open to electric or amplified acoustic), keyboards (piano, organ, synths, etc.), Mainstage/Ableton Live synth/MIDI wizardry, vocals; - Can provide examples of you performing said instrument in front of an audience (audio or video); - Able to “speak music” (understands music theory, different meters, Nashville Number System, etc) in a dynamic context; - Between 21-30ish years old; - Tolerance (minimum) of a dark Internet sense of humor; - Are looking to actually put in time and energy to learn and practice consistently, together and apart; - Can provide all of your gear and transportation to haul said gear wherever needed; And reach out to me (email or text [I'm using a Google number to filter out spam]) with your contact details, some info about yourself and your goals, and a demo or two. Depending on the volume of responses, we’ll chat and possibly arrange some group auditions/jams (location/practice space TBD).
