It's true millions of family's ancestors immigrated to the US virtually all legally and there's a reason for immigrating this way. No foreigner no matter what their reason or desire has a right to enter another country without permission. It's the right of every country on earth to determine who lives in their land and for good reason which is why we have immigration laws that currently allow over a million people a year from around the world to immigrate here legally, more than any other nation allows so its a unfounded argument to say we are not generous to foreigners who want to live here. We have immigration laws passed by both Democrats and Republicans with a few Independents as well that designed these laws to our country's benefit. The fact that Democrats have decided for themselves they don't want these laws to apply anymore doesn't mean foreigners have legal rights to violate them. You cannot name any country you hold in higher regard than ours that allows over a million immigrates legally into their country then allows a million more in violating their immigration laws. You don't have to be a snobby elitists to demand that anyone wanting to enter our country to follow the prescribed laws Congress passed for immigration. If you're so concerned and outraged about Europeans coming here and taking native American's land why are you still here, there must be some other country you can live that did take their land by force, naturally you'll have to ask permission to immigrate since you can't just show up and throw yourself on their mercy expecting to be welcomed in. Most legal immigrants coming to the US arrived long after Native American lands were taken from them, they played no role in its theft and are as blameless as all the illegal immigrants trying to enter now. If history teaches anything we know that we cannot help any country change how they treat one another it's something they have to do for themselves. We couldn't do it in Iraq or Afghanistan after spending trillions and losing thousands of our soldiers, we're not going to be able to help countries in Central America to do it after decades of yearly foreign aid either. We know what the root cause is, it's themselves, Central Americans have all the natural resources and ingenuity they need to allow all of themselves to live a happy safe life they only have to embrace it. Your opinion is childish and unsophisticated based on emotion not logic or current law. All Democrats have to do is change immigration laws to suit themselves and anyone they want to enter will be doing it legally but they refuse because they know voters would reject their attempt and vote them out of office in the blink of an eye. Ignoring and violating the immigration laws here doesn't make you a better person it makes you a criminal. Biden and Harris are breaking the laws passed by Congress and should be impeached for allowing our sovereignty to be violated. In fact any elected official should be recalled from office for doing the same and face legal consequences prescribed by law. We are a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy meaning the majority cannot force the minority to be governed by mob rule. Our founders rejected Democracy because of this reason knowing it would destroy what they fought so hard for in winning their freedoms. The concept is not complicated. I am not sure why you are having trouble grasping it. Your dependents immigrated to America. My dependents immigrated to America. 99.99% of all people in America either immigrated or are decedents of immigrants. So what give us the right to judge people who are moving here looking for opportunity just as our own families did? Most of us were lucky enough to be born here. But that does not mean that we should exclude other people who have the same dreams and want the same opportunities. People who oppose immigration are snobby elitists. Hopefully, VP Harris wil make some progress at helping improve life and conditions in South American countries so that less people feel completed to leave their country. Hopefully Harris will help create jobs and coach these nations on how manufacturing and free trade can improve their society. With a little luck she can make life safer for these countries so people stay in their home country. But in the meantime, do not be a selfish snob. Have a little compassion for people who want a better life. Every person on earth deserves an opportunity at happiness. If coming to America will being a person or family happiness, so be it. How other people live their lives is really none of your business and none of my business. Go ask your grandparents why they came to America. And quit disrespecting true native Americans by pretending that you have some sacred right to be here. Immigrants (including you and your family) STOLE this land from the indigenous people and exploited them. Have some respect.
