Found animal options

I took in two cats who seem to have been left behind by someone in my apartment community. I was not successful in locating their owner so I have been trying to find them a home. My son (6) and I have since discovered that we’re allergic to cats and we really need them out of the home ASAP (mainly for my son- long term exposure to allergens can trigger asthma in children). I’ve also been unsuccessful at finding them a home (posted to Austin lost and found pets and other similar Facebook groups, asked friends/family/coworkers, Craigslist, etc.) so I called AAC to drop them off but it’s appointment based and my appointment is a month and a half away. I can’t wait that long. The only shelter I can find who will take them right away is the San Marcos shelter but apparently they have a pretty high euthanasia rate. If I have to take them there, I will, but I really don’t want to. Does anyone know if there are any other immediate options? Thank you!
