Men for Hire: looking for 4 movers to help pack a U-Haul truck. $100 per man for about 4 hours of work. This gig is for loading the truck... no un-loading will be required. There are two loading locations for packing the truck. Details below. Location #1: A CubeSmart drive-up storage unit in College Point, Queens. We have two storage units with most items already boxed and ready for loading on to the truck. Mostly the units include boxes, but there are some larger furniture items as well. The units are outside so we can literally pull the truck right up to the unit, no staircases, no elevators. Location #2: Our apartment in Kew Gardens Hills. We have another set of already-packed boxes and some small furniture items that need to be packed in the truck from our apartment. The apartment is on the first floor in a garden complex so again, no staircases (just the 2 steps at the Stoop). Schedule: We will be packing the U-Haul truck on Thursday, July 8. We would like to start at the storage units at 9:30am and would ask that you meet us there. We will drive anyone who does not have a car from location #1 to location #2 (about a 15-minute drive away) and can take you back to the train at the end of the job. Payment: Payment will be made in cash at the end of the job. We expect it will not take the full 4 hours, but will pay the $100 per person either way. Applicants: You can apply as an individual or as a group. Once we have commitments from 4 people, we will take down this ad. This is a labor-intense job – some of these boxes are quite heavy.
