Newcomb Photography, Wednesday July 14th at The Wine Room, downtown Fort Myers, 1544 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Networking begins at 6:00 PM with wine and cheese followed by our speaker and chapter business. Tickets are $20, available at ABWAImperialRiver.Eventbrite.com. Please contact us if you are interested so we can make reservations. About Sarah NewcombSarah Newcomb is the owner of The Wine Room, located downtown Ft. Myers and S. Newcomb photography, which focuses on family and travel photography. She also works full time for Lee County as an Administrative Specialist. Sarah was the first full time President & CEO of the Estero Chamber of Commerce. Her professional career includes five years with Lee County Government where she spent most of her time helping businesses grow as a Business Development Specialist with Economic Development. She also held the role of Director of College & Career Initiatives with The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools where she coordinated field trips for high school students to learn about local businesses and career fields. Much of her leadership training stems from her time as an Area Manager with Amazon. Sarah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Supervision and Management from Florida Southwestern State College. She completed the program with a 3.4 GPA and was part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She continues to participate in training and courses that assist her in helping small businesses. She also finds time to give back to the community by volunteering for Our Mother’s Home, Lee County Public Schools, and Junior Achievement. About ABWA IMPERIAL RIVER CHAPTER The American Business Women’s Association Imperial River Chapter was launched April 13th, 2016 specifically to serve the women of Estero and Bonita Springs, FL. At that time, other chapters existed in Southwest Florida. However, none were convenient to the business women of the area between Fort Myers and Naples. ABWA Imperial River Chapter supports the national organization’s mission: to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. Our chapter raises funds to help reimburse our membership, comprised of local business women, for conferences, seminars, continuing education credits and other professional development pursuits. Our regular meetings: Registration/check-in and networking starts at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner and speaker/activity. Meetings happen at the Villages of Country Creek off of Corkscrew Road in Estero. Tickets are $30 at Eventbrite, which includes dinner. A team comprised of members from chapters in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Sanibel-Captiva decided to create a new formation to serve this growing area of Lee County.
