Press release from Visit Tri-Valley: June 25, 2021 Visit Tri-Valley, the region's official tourism bureau, has acquired the former Livermore Valley Film Office and will now serve as the region's liaison for film permitting, location scouting and other related services. The change takes effect immediately and will be known as the Tri-Valley Film Office. Just outside of San Francisco and encompassing the cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, the Town of Danville and the Livermore Valley Wine Country, the Tri-Valley is an ideal destination for film and television production. Located 19-miles east of Oakland International Airport, the region has rural sites, beautiful vineyards, empty mansions, warehouses, and industrial parks, as well as picturesque downtown and neighborhood areas. With production-friendly weather -- daytime temperatures average 73 degrees with cooler nights and an annual average of 14 inches of rainfall -- the Tri-Valley is a location scout's dream come true. As a smaller region, the Tri-Valley offers a more streamlined film permitting process than larger cities and popular filming locations. "The Tri-Valley is home to seriously stunning landscapes, quaint main streets overflowing with charm, a picturesque wine country, and plenty of wide-open spaces," explains Visit Tri-Valley President & CEO, Tracy Farhad. "We know these are key ingredients for filmmaking, and we're pleased to share our region with top film, TV, and commercial productions." The Tri-Valley region isn't new to showbiz; the area and its businesses have starred in productions in the past such as the 1993 hit film Mrs. Doubtfire, as well as MythBusters, 13 Reasons Why, Hemingway & Gellhorn starring Nicole Kidman, Star Trek Into Darkness, and many car commercials including one for the Ford F-150.
