Description
June 17--if what you say is true, then you need to report the breeders to the authorities. Police department, Animal Control, the District Attorney if you have to. If you don't get results, contact ASPCA or someone who could investigate them. Try to get info from other people who bought pups from them.
What is a backyard breeder?
Of the 53 million dogs in the U.S., about two-thirds come from backyard breeders. They are the single greatest cause of the pet overpopulation crisis in this country.
A backyard breeder is someone who keeps a number of dogs and either breeds them deliberately or just lets them breed. Backyard breeders may have a few dogs or many, one breed or several. They usually have no understanding of or concern about the breed standard, genetics, socializing the dogs, and maintaining their health.
Basically, they are just deplorable people; animal abuse is against the law and those people need to be in jail. Period.
