Press release from the Atlanta Police Department:
06/24/2021
In response to increased criminal activity and a recent social media post showing a large crowd gathered around several people arguing, one of which was seen armed with an AK-47 rifle, the Atlanta Police Department teamed up with the Georgia State Patrol to increase police presence in the Buckhead Village area over the weekend of June 19 and 20. The detail resulted in approximately 66 traffic stops, 38 citations issued and 13 arrests with one being a man wanted by DeKalb County for murder. Officers also impounded 4 vehicles and seized 1 firearm. We are pleased with the results of this detail, but we know our work is far from over and we will continue focusing on these problem areas. We are extremely appreciative of the partnerships we have with the Georgia State Patrol and our local law enforcement agencies.
