Generator Source/ B&K Diesel Electric Service, Inc. is seeking a Yard & Shop Associate to join our team! In this role, you will be part of our Shipping and Receiving team and will unload, clean, check-in and move industrial generators. This role coordinates directly with our amazing technicians and truckers making deliveries. For the right person, this position could be an eventual stepping-stone to becoming a generator technician. Our focus is on buying and selling low-hour, industrial generators for backup and emergency power. We also provide preventative maintenance and field service for our client’s generators. We work with all the top name brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, and more. We are searching for a career-oriented individual to join our team of approximately 40 employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receive generators when trucks deliver them to our yard (receive BOL, document arrival condition, unload, tag). • Assist with loading and unloading generators (ranging from 1,000 to 35,000 lbs) from trucks, utilizing on-site forklifts. • Assist in documenting generator details for our 31-point inspection process. • Clean inside, outside, power wash and detail generator sets once they are checked in. • Move generators to service area to assist technicians or to storage yard. • Help with organization and maintenance of the yard as needed. • Prepare outgoing generators for pickup (move to outgoing area, locate all fall off items & documents, band / wrap key generator parts, print BOL) • Work closely with our Shop Manager on misc. duties around the yard. • Assist in taking photographs of units when arriving, leaving and for website. • Inspect inventory generators to ensure they are not damaged by the elements or other factors. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: • Detail oriented and able to fill in equipment checklists. • Ability to work independently and efficiently. • Conscientious and meticulous in performing work duties as assigned. • Desire to learn a new set of skills in a fast growing industry. • Experience operating a forklift and/or crane preferred. • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and a clean MVR. • Working outside approximately 90% of the time. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Experience professionally cleaning equipment or cars, performing minor fabrication and painting, and/or industrial machinery or automotive inventory preferred but not required. • Interest in learning or experience with power generation equipment a plus.
