A SERIES OF EXCITING SUMMER EVENTS TO GATHER AND ENJOY A VARIETY OF ART FORMS AS WELL AS CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN THE ARTISTS AND THE AUDIENCE. JULY 10 STEVE LANGONE and THE JINGA QUARTETSteve Langone is an extraordinary drummer whose music versatility, awareness, and liveliness allows him to perform in many different genres of music and with a variety of artists. A true improviser, his playing can be both unpredictably minimalist or powerfully introspective. The Jinga Quartet is presenting a combination of Caribbean and South American rhythms. He is always performing and recording, nationally and internationally, with artists such as George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Rufus Reid,  Miguel Zenon, Donny McCaslin, The NDR Bigband, Claudio Roditi, Bill Pierce, Antonio Sanchez, Leo Genovese, Avishai Cohen,  Frank Lacy,  Claudio Ragazzi, Luciana Souza, to name a few. He is currently an MFA candidate in 3D Fine Arts at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He draws inspiration from artists who work with rough and reused materials, such as Phyllida Barlow and El Anatsui. His personal practice reflects the concept of the artifact. Whether a tool from an ancient society or a long forgotten religious relic, these objects command a sense of mystery through their material and age. In his own words: "I am interested in utilizing these qualities through manipulation of raw materials and implementing them."
