Forming old school indie band with noise/punk/whatever elements

Hey all, so I dunno why, but it seems incredibly hard to find people in this city who want to make that style of music that used to be called indie in the 80s and 90s and I guess now doesn't really exist. You know, like SST, K Records, Touch & Go, AmRep, Sub Pop, Dischord, Kill Rock Stars, Merge... Anyway, I'm a really sloppy guitarist and an ok singer and I play a tiny bit of bass and really no drums. I've been recording stuff at home for the past couple years but I would love to actually write songs with other people. I'm not a professional, so I'd love to just mess around and find something weird. I do take it seriously, though. I want to play tons of shows and record and actually try and make something of it. My sound right now is a bit all over the place, but I've been really into Unrest, Unwound, Jesus Lizard, the Wrens, Hum, Hole, Rainer Maria, Helium, Quicksand, Sparklehorse, Cherubs, and really too much other stuff.
