Civic Saturday comes to Lakewood. Community: Yours, Mine, and Ours. August 7 On August 7, in collaboration with the Herd Sanity group from Green Mountain United Methodist Church, I am pleased to host Community: Yours, Mine, and Ours. This will be the first Civic Saturday hosted in Lakewood. Civic Saturday is a community gathering where we come together as friends, neighbors, and sometimes strangers in civic community, to be inspired and encouraged to reflect and connect, and create new civic traditions that are joyful and communal. Through songs, readings, and discussions, local artists, community members, and the host committee will share inspiration on the theme of mutuality. What challenges and opportunities do we face in a rapidly growing community? What does it mean to be a good neighbor? This event is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served. To help us provide refreshments and accommodations, please register in advance. Civic Saturday was started by Citizen University in Seattle and is now hosted in more than 20 cities across the country.
