Venezuelan Folk Music by the Avila Ensemble We are excited to invite you to join us for our first concert in the Saturday Concert Series at the Amelia, in association with Bard College Conservetory of Music. The first program will feature the Avila Ensemble, a Venezuelan string and percussion quartet playing upbeat folk music from a country with a rich musical tradition. In the intimate setting of the Amelia hotel you will experience a close connection to the musicians and the music making process. The concert will run about 45 minutes. Afterwards we will provide light refreshments and our guests will have a chance to talk to the musicians. Please note that vaccination cards will be checked at the door. The Ávila Ensemble was created by Venezuelan conservatory students at Bard College. The group is a result of the wish of these young Venezuelans to reconnect with their roots and their culture, and to demonstrate the different colors of their country through its music.
