Learn the skills needed to become an IMMEDIATE RESPONDER by learning how to Stop the Bleed! Masks and hand sanitizer will be available. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and a call-to-action. The Stop the Bleed Initiative is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. In this class designed for the non-medically trained bystander, you will learn the skills to become an IMMEDIATE RESPONDER by learning the principles of how to stop life-threatening bleeding! You will walk out of this class knowing how to apply a tourniquet to an arm or leg as well as how to pack an open wound and apply pressure. No prior medical knowledge is required or needed. This class is FREE, FUN, and EMPOWERING! Enter through the front door of the building, you will be on the first floor. Take a left turn around the elevators and follow the hallway all the way down to the auditorium. Parking is free. Refrigerators and a vending drink machine are located one level below. Vending machine takes exact change only. Class participants will be learning how to pack a wound using a realistic wound packing device. Wear casual clothing that won't mind getting a stain or two. Gloves will be provided.
