Description: Blackhawk Estates, a mobile home community located in Des Plaines, IL, is looking for full-time Maintenance Technicians. This position performs routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Zeman Homes communities. In addition to the compensation package, we offer the following benefits: • Potential performance bonus up to 20% • Participation in the medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and health savings account after 60 days of service • Participation in the 401-(k) savings plan • Company paid holidays • Paid time off Essential Job Duties: • Inspects and completes routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities, streets, and vehicles. • Ensures the common lawn areas are manicured appropriately. Regularly remove weeds, and rake leaves. Plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips and stones. Trim shrubs and hedges, and perform other lawn care services as necessary. • Ensures the community is presentable and inviting at all times and that it adheres to Zeman’s Community appearance standards. • Cleans and maintains the community building, such as clubhouse, community offices, restrooms, laundry areas, and maintenance garage. • Maintains vacant sites. • Rehabs and maintains used and leased homes. • Performs various plumbing tasks. Performs water testing and other maintenance duties related to a well-water system. • Removes snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances. Requirements: • Previous grounds and maintenance experience preferred. • Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions requires constant outdoor work. • Valid driver’s license and good driving record. • General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance. • Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment. • Ability to walk, climb, stand, sit, and lift to 50 pounds. • Ability to provide legible written reports. • Prior snow removal experience preferred. • Availability to respond to community needs during non-business hours. • Excellent customer service skills.
