Description

Join us for Yoga @ Sunset on the porch at Carey Cottage. Your donation will support Portsmouth's Back to School Drive. The Alliance for Greater Good is collaborating again with the City of Portsmouth's Welfare Department to provide needed school supplies for children. Help us help them gear up for the 2021-2022 school year. Make a donation of any amount to attend one of two Yoga @ Sunset classes from 6:30-7:30 PM on July 20 or July 22. Kathryn Garcia, a certified yoga instructor, will lead the all-levels yoga class on the porch of the beautifully restored Carey Cottage, overlooking Sagamore Creek. The classes will be held rain or shine. Register now as tickets are limited. If you cannot attend one of the yoga classes, but would like to donate, you may purchase a "Donation Only- No Admission" ticket and enter a donation of any amount. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $1500 to purchase 30 backpacks for high school students who are often overlooked. Please give generously as there's no limit to the needs. All additional proceeds will be donated to Portsmouth's Back to School Drive. For questions, contact us at [email protected]. Yoga @ Sunset will be held on this beautiful porch at Carey Cottage, overlooking Sagamore Creek. Bring your own mat and enjoy the view during this 50-minute all-levels yoga class. The Alliance for Greater Good extends its thanks to GoodWork for the use of Carey Cottage. GoodWork supports, develops, and strengthens Greater Seacoast nonprofits by maximizing their ability to deliver services. Currently, the Alliance is an incubator participant that is benefitting from GoodWork's services. The Alliance for Greater Good is a collaboration of four friends that creates events to connect the kindness in others with local beneficiaries. Since the Alliance formed in August 2020, it has coordinated events that have assisted a variety of beneficiaries including school children, families with food insecurity, seniors in long-term care facilities, restaurant workers, and women transitioning from homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters and recovery centers. The Alliance embraces all-inclusive ways to give—time, goods, and money so that anyone who is interested can contribute. The Alliance is a volunteer run organization with the co-founders donating time, energy, and expertise in pursuit of their mission to rally the kindness in people to meet community needs.
