Using Kumihimo Japanese braiding techniques, participants will create a round braided bracelet and embellish it with a lampwork bead.
Join June Knowles, expert jewelry and mixed media artist for this 2 hour workshop where you will learn to create this beautiful braiding technique which can be used for bracelets, necklaces or to embellish mixed media creations. June designed this workshop with the beginner in mind. This variation of the ancient Japanese Kumihimo technique is easy, fast and fun. You will leave this workshop wearing your new, finished bracelet!
June's classes are limited to 4 students so she can give you personal attention and instruction.
Level: Beginner+
Materials Fee of $25.00 payable in cash to instructor at time of class. You will receive a kit including a lampwork bead made by the instructor, the kumihimo braiding disc, enough cord for 2 bracelets, (one in class and one for later), bobbins for holding the cord and a clasp.
Artisans is an artist co-op in downtown Mount Dora, Florida. We specialize in handmade artwork of all kinds. Within our gallery there is a small classroom in which we are offering a variety of classes that are fun and addicting. You will always be able to take home something you created in class. The classes are relaxing and intimate. Please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time to secure on-street parking. Feel free to bring a non-alcoholic beverage.
