ALL NEW OUTREACH PROGRAM AT PILLARS OF LIGHT AND LOVE. PLEASE GATHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY, OR COME MEET NEW FRIENDS!
Pillars of Light and Love with be hosting our first "Craft for Kindness " event. This all new program will feature a different craft every month which will be given to a local charity or those in need. On Tuesday, July 20th at 7pm, our guest, Teri Black, of "The Sleeping Mat Project" will explain how they make weatherproof sleeping mats for the homeless. Because the mats need to be made on large looms, we will not be making a completed mat during this craft, but will be preparing the "plarn" strips from plastic grocery bags used to make the mats. Each mat requires about 500 to 600 plastic grocery bags! Once the mats are loomed off-site, they will be donated to organizations who help the homeless living on the streets, such as "AIM"- Angels In Motion, along with others. Please gather a group of family and friends, or come alone, and join us as we cut the bags into specific size strips of "plarn".
If you can, collect plastic grocery bags and bring with you, that will help. Please bring extra scissors if you can.
When you RSVP, please RSVP one per group. So, if you are coming with friends or family, please RSVP for 1, but let us know the number in your party when asked on the registration form. We have limited spacing, so it is important we know how many will be coming to help on this meaningful project.
You will receive a confirmation for your registration at least 48 hours before the event. Please let us know if you cannot attend, so we may release your registration to someone on our waiting list.
If you have any questions, please call us and leave a message at 484-854-1162, thanks!
