Dogs In Hoboken Must Get The Vaccine (For Rabies)

HOBOKEN, NJ — By state law, all dogs in New Jersey must be vaccinated against rabies. In Hoboken, dogs 7 months or older (or possessing a permanent set of teeth) must be licensed annually. Rabies is the most deadly virus in the country, transmissible to humans via the bite of an infected animal and more than 99 percent fatal. The city is running a free rabies clinic this Saturday. The clinic will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St. All dogs must be securely fastened on a leash or in a carrier, and should have a dog license which can also be obtained at the clinic.
