KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A record amount was raised by businesses and customers during King of Prussia Restaurant Week for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, organizers announced.
Over the 10 day event, a total of $68,484 was raised and donated to CHOP's new King of Prussia Specialty Care Center and KOP inpatient hospital, which is scheduled to open this November.
Organizers said 77 different restaurants and businesses participated, providing special sales, new dining features, live music nights, and more to attract greater customers. A portion of all proceeds was set aside for the hospital.
Among the events was Takeout Under the Tents, an outdoor dining experience in the King of Prussia Mall parking lot. Reservations in igloos could be made by making a donation to CHOP.
More than 400 people participated in the Family Fun Day, which includes music, food trucks, magic tricks, balloon twisting, and character appearances.
KOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops have raised $220,984 since 2014, organizers said.
