TUCSON, AZ -- A 30-year-old man was charged in connection with antisemitic vandalism at Tucson's Chabad on River synagogue, Tucson police said. Nathan Beaver was charged with aggravated criminal damage on Thursday in connection with the incident that was reported on June 7, according to police. If convicted, Beavers faces a maximum sentence of 8.7 years in prison. A vandal spray-painted a swastika and an antisemitic slur on the front door of the Tucson synagogue located near Fort Lowell Road and Alvernon Way. The damage was reported to police on June 7, police said. RELATED: Tucson's Chabad On River Vandalized With Swastika, Slur Tucson Mayor Regina Romero released the following statement on the arrest. "I know this incident was deeply troubling to our entire community. I appreciate the dedicated work of our police department's officers and detectives to identify and apprehend the suspect."
