We are a three piece, eclectic jazz funk trio(drums, bass, sax) looking for a guitarist or keyboardist (or both)to complete. Playing a pretty wide range repertoire in a somewhat commercial vein. We want to get out and book gigs this year! Influences of members include The Bad Plus, Medeski, Martin and Wood, The Meters, Snarky Puppie, Charlie Hunter, Earth, Wind & Fire, Mad Skillet, Joshua Redman, Headhunters and Soulive. If you are looking to play what is considered fusion or bop this is probably not the group of people for you. However, if you are looking to play in something that requires some improvisation and experimentation but still playing very listenable and accessible music with heavy funk influences then this might be right for you.(we would want to cover songs as well as write our own) We have all played in several bands(i.e. over 40)
