APARTMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
A Portland, Maine Real Estate Management Company has an immediate opening for a qualified, motivated, and experienced Maintenance Technician with 4-5 years’ minimum experience.
The responsibilities are wide-ranging and diverse. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, handling daily work orders, turning over apartments for new occupancy and/or remodeling units, as needed.
Skills needed for this position:
a.) Carpentry: includes the ability to install cabinets, countertops, doors, windows, wood moldings, trim, repair steps, handrails, and porches, as needed.
b.) Plumbing: includes the repair, replacement or installation of sinks, faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines.
c.) Electrical: includes the repair, replacement or installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights and fans, circuit breakers and zone valves.
d.) Drywall repairs: includes repairing holes, installing new sheet rock, and painting, as needed.
e.) Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds.
f.) Some knowledge of heating systems.
This position is 40 hours a week, in addition to, occasional overtime for after-hours’ work and On-Call emergencies. Applicant must be friendly, presentable, and able to interact with Staff, Tenants, and Subcontractors.
Reliable vehicle with current insurance and a valid driver’s license is required. (Company vehicle provided during work week.)
