Description
There is a great need for more foster parents in Washington! If you have thought about foster parenting, now is the time to learn more!
Service Alternatives contracts with the state to license and support foster parents and the children they care for. We primarily license treatment foster homes for children between the ages of 6 and 18 years old who require some additional support. The support we provide our foster families includes:
* On-going support throughout the licensing process
* Monthly respite if desired: respite is a break where the child you are caring for goes to another licensed home, typically for a weekend
* Monthly financial reimbursement to care for the child in your home ($2440)
* Case Management: each child has an assigned case manager who maintains communication with the child's team, ensures services are being met, and develops treatment plans with goals
* On-going staff support: staff work with the child in your home on a regular basis (typically 2-3 times per week) helping them work through trauma and learn new skills
*24/7 support, mentoring and crisis response as needed
All trainings and the licensing process are free!
As a foster parent you can choose to care for a child full time or part time by providing respite for other foster families. Respite foster families are needed too and a great way to support both foster families and foster children!
Send an email or call/text for more information about becoming a Foster Parent!
We have a Virtual Foster Parent Information night coming up on 7/13. If you're interested in attending, please send an email and request the registration information.
