Description
I have two large Plecos that need rehoming. Each are about 6 -7 inches long. I call them Plecosito and Plecosito Jr., as one is older and therefore slightly bigger than the other. Unfortunately they just got way bigger than I expected, and continue to grow. Also my fish and snails have continued to reproduce making my tank overstocked. We have them both in a 55 gallon community tank right now, and they are really awesome. I’m sad as I love these guys, they’re super chill and keep my tank spotless. However because of their size, they need way more space than what I have to offer and it’s not fair to them to stay in this tank. Both don’t need to go to the same home, though I would prefer that.
As I said these guys are super chill, they’re friendly in a community tank with Mystery Snails, Guppies, Fathead Minnows, Cichlids, Kuhli Loaches, White Crayfish, and Fiddler Crabs. They don’t mess with anyone, all they do is stay in a cave or hiding spot of their choice and come out at night to feed off the glass and substrate. Every now and again they come out during the day just to lounge around. But they do need their own territory cave/ dark hiding spot where they can fit completely.
I feed into my tank algae wafers, Hikari crab cuisine, frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, and TetraMin tropical flakes. Most of those are left on the bottom from what the fish don’t eat. The algae wafers are mostly for the Plecos specifically, but they need a complete diet which the other stuff covers.
