Work independently receiving, inspecting, and processing beautiful home furnishings. Our warehouse in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago supports our retail store in Lincoln Park and is in need of an additional team member in our receiving and processing department. Job duties include: - Verifying items of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. - Preparing furnishings and home accessories for retail presentation, as well as outgoing shipping including picking, packing, and creating labels - Receiving items, unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and making shipper aware of damages and shortages - Creating and building pallets, crates and skids - Using typical warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, or dolly to move items - Helping load and unload trucks Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED - Strong vision and attention to detail, as required for performing thorough inspections and finding small flaws - Good communications skills, both verbal and written are required and experience using a computer is preferred - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally throughout the workday - Must be able to work overtime hours with little or no notice This is an entry-level position with growth opportunity for someone who is dependable, hard-working, ready to learn.
