Overview The Driller/ Locator positions will work hand in hand and are responsible for making safe bores that adhere to engineer drawings. These positions are also responsible for maintaining safe job site conditions and upholding all federal, state, and local standards for safety. Job Description • Operate equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures. • Knowledge with Locating units for HDD installation of underground conduit for infrastructure construction. • Attend training to implement new equipment, technologies, and safety protocols. • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers. • Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned, and stored in a safe manner. • Attend all safety meetings. • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required. • Precise and safe drill operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditions. • Call in emergency utility locates and prepare damage reports according to company policy. • Wear required PPE per OSHA and company standards. • Oversee jobsite safety set up. • Perform any lane closure per DOT requirements. • Perform safe excavating procedures. • Determine bore path per the prints. • Verify depths and alignments of boring positions. • Conduct post jobs quality checks. • Other duties as assigned. • Understand prints and product placement per specs. • Follows specifications for the job and company policies. Requirements • One to five years of experience in horizontal directional drilling/locating. • Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basis. • Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations. • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License. (Driller only) • Valid DOT Medical Certification. (Driller only) • Pass pre-employment requirements. • Travel required. • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Minimum of OSHA 10 required
