Description
Retired, partially disabled, master craftsman in need of some help remodeling my house.
Offering instruction in the Art and Science of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration along with room and board and a SMALL stipend in exchange for labor. This will be a 60-90 day intensive work study program including both academic lessons and hands on training that will prepare you for an entry level position in the HVAC&R industry. You will also have the opportunity to obtain your EPA section 608 refrigerant handlers certification, (FREON Card). Beside being a successful contractor, I taught this class for years at a community college level and have literally trained hundreds of technicians in my career.
In exchange for the keys to the Kingdom of knowledge I will expect 30-40 hours of labor per week ranging from yard work, to painting, to "pick that up and move it there" and "hand me that wrench".
The ideal candidate would already have some carpentry, plumbing, and electrical helper experience. From there, if you have the aptitude, I can help you get to the next level in trades this summer and you can help me get my house remodeled before the winter comes.
Interested applicants should reply by email with a short essay about your experience, your current situation, and why you think you would be an ideal candidate for this opportunity. Warning, there will be math involved. Also be aware, if you make it to the next step in the process, I WILL be checking references and doing a criminal background check.
