Description

Needing to re-home 2 male rats. They are a father and son pair The son was born on Christmas 2020, and the dad was born in September of 2020 no known date unfortunately on the older one. They came to us as part of a larger colony that was being split up, and these too were being picked on and stole our hearts. Both had a lot of wounds which ended up healing wonderfully minus the half tails they possess from being bitten off by the other males they were with. We got them meds from the vet, and they healed up, and minus the little half nubbins, you’d never know they came from an abusive home. Right now they are in a single level critter nation. But that’s not included. Both boys are shy due to there past, but they have no problems coming up to you if your handing them a treat! They’ll come climb on your arm, you just have to move slow around them. Fast movement really scares them. But definitely typical men….food is the way to there hearts. They are kinda litter trained, as in they use it when they happen to be standing in the litter pans when they gotta go. We vacuum out the rogue poops with a shop vac everyday. They have baskets filled with fleece all over the cage. Those are there favorites. Especially the green one that the highest up in the air. And then a double layer fleece bottoms as cage liners. Chewing fleece is there favorite pastime, but wood chews come in a close second ;) They absolutely love snuggling, but also enjoy play time. They love to box (like kangaroos), and the dad likes to steal toys and then the younger one will chirp/cry and then hop away and it’s this ongoing back and forth for hours from boxing to stealing toys, and then they crash curled into each other. Asking $40 rehoming fee for the 2 rats, 2 water bottles, 2 food bowls, the rest of the food (Preuss pets ultra rat), treats, toys that haven’t been destroyed yet, there baskets, any unused fleece I have at the time of adoption, and some new hook things to attach the baskets to whatever cage your going to use. Or $20 for just the 2 rats and no supplies. Can deliver for gas money. No cage included.
