Kick Off a Healthy Summer in Tarkington Park with health and wellness programs and activities for families and children of all ages. Highlights include: 9 a.m. Bike Indianapolis will lead a 5-mile neighborhood all-ages bike ride. 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Versiti Blood Center mobile blood drive. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Juneteenth Program, arranged by Portia Sholar Jackson, Artists Building Community Fellow with Arts for Learning Indiana. More than a dozen community groups, nonprofits and service organizations will have information tables to distribute material of community interest. Brought to you by IndyParks, Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, Midtown Indy, MLK Center, and Tea’s Me. This event is made possible by the generous financial support of the Marion County Public Health Department, Local Initiatives Support Corp., Midtown Indy, and the Public Art for Neighborhoods Community Connections Grant Program which is administered by the Arts Council of Indianapolis and funded by the City of Indianapolis. Community partner organizations include: Arts for Learning Indiana, Bike Indianapolis, Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood Association, Crown Hill Neighborhood Association, IMPD, Indiana Youth Group, KI NuMedia, Peace Learning Center, Raphael Health Center, Versiti Blood Center of Indiana.
