Description

We've all been waiting to safely meet up; now, we have the chance. Join END HIV Houston and The Normal Anomaly Initiative in our Social/ Distanced Happy Hour. You can either watch us streaming on Facebook or you can come join in the fun in person at an event filled with music, conversation, networking, light bites and drinks. Come be a part of community! The Community Review Commission on Service Excellence (CRC or Community Review Commission) is a community-led review of health care and social service organizations in Houston, TX. This year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared racism a public health issue. Even before the CDC came to this conclusion, the CRC set out to identify practices and behaviors like cost transparency, bias, discrimination, and stigma among health and social service organizations that impact the customer experience. The CRC believes that if these behaviors and practices – that drive medical distrust and impact the patient or customer experience – can be identified, then they can be addressed and changed. The CRC recognizes organizations that deliver a level of customer service excellence – a level the community can expect and easily identify through the CRC Seal of Approval. The Normal Anomaly Initiative uses a social justice lens to address issues of stigma and health disparities of people of color and LGBTQIA+ folx through digital storytelling.
