Shawn Dawson performs for FREE MUSIC FRIDAY at Golden Fox Brewing Shawn Dawson is a singer/songwriter using his guitar to perform styles as diverse as classic country to yacht rock. This vast stylistic gamut is the result of Shawn having many influences that have inspired him to create his "old school" American music sound. Beginning as a punk rock guitarist in the southern Illinois college town of Carbondale, Shawn has fronted his own power trio (Waxdolls) in addition to performing solo for over 20 years. As a solo performer, he enjoys the opportunity to play more laid back, afternoon-type material that stirs audiences' imaginations and gets their groove going. Shawn is a consummate professional bringing all his years of performance experience and knowledge to every gig. His ability to read a crowd and connect with his audience is a result of the focused and diligent hard work Shawn has put into his music. He can often surprise and entertain even the most cynical listener.
