The Most Comprehensive Course for New Shooters (Guns and Ammo Included) The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (BOPS) course includes standardized NRA training for the novice shooter. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare for responsible gun ownership. Topics include safe gun handling, pistol mechanics, ammunition, marksmanship principles, selecting and maintaining a pistol, and range practices. HANDGUNS AND AMMUNITION ARE INCLUDED. Class size is limited to ensure hands-on, personal instruction. THIS COURSE IS ALSO A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THOSE DESIRING TO BECOME A CERTIFIED PISTOL INSTRUCTOR, RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. The course is objective-driven, lasting approximately 6 hours, including both classroom and range time. The cost of the course is $125. Students should also bring or be prepared to rent eye and ear protection for the range. NOTE: THIS SESSION IS SCHEDULED OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS. Students must attend both sessions to complete the course.
