Grow Your Own Food and Reduce Waste!
Let’s learn about permaculture principles and how to apply them to your life. We will explore what actionable steps we can take to grow our own food. We will talk about no-till garden building and where safe sources of compost and plants can be found. We will discuss native and perennial plants that grow well in our area and other challenges we face because of our particular climate.
As an added bonus, I will teach you how to rescue and hatch the endangered monarch butterfly caterpillars. You will be releasing butterflies into our ecosystem before you know it!
I have been a certified permaculture designer for 8 years. I discovered permaculture over a decade ago when I started looking into the quality of my vegetables. I am the garden designer at Somer’s garden; which is Florida’s first public food forest. I have helped run the volunteer days and tours at our forest garden for over 5 years and counting.
