FRAMINGHAM, MA — One of Framingham's main coronavirus testing sites will begin offering free COVID-19 vaccine shots today. The drive-up Project Beacon site along Maple Street will offer the Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer versions, with the latter available to people as young as 12. The drive-up site is open by appointment only. Soon, the drive-up test site will be the only government-sponsored testing site in the area. Framingham's second test site at St. Tarcisius, which offers walk-up service, is set to close June 30. That site has also transitioned to distributing take-home tests rather than offering them on-site. The Maple Street testing site is open on the following days and times: Sundays — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Mondays — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.Thursdays — 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.Fridays — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (beginning July 16)
