Sadly I am seeking a new home for Tunechi and Birdman Baby, two male parrotlets. They are very bonded and must stay together (please do not contact me if you plan to separate them for breeding). They are both 1 year 9 months old.
They were not hand raised but are clicker trained. Tunechi (American Yellow) will step up on my finger and Baby (American White) will step up on a stick, but not my hand. both will eat millet out of my hand. Tunechi could probably be trained to enjoy handling, but Baby is very hand-shy. Tunechi will mimick kissy noises and Baby will do 'heart wings' on command.
They are housed together and never fight with each other, but are both territorial toward my other parrots. They used to live with another one of my parrotlets when they were younger, but now they don't tolerate any other birds in the area surrounding their cage.
They will do best with someone who is willing to be patient... they don't respond well to being grabbed at or chased. Baby will bite in this situation and it makes them much less likely to step up on command. I don't recommend them as a pet for children, but I believe a loving home with either more space or fewer birds than I have would improve their quality of life.
They are relatively low maintenance compared to my other birds as they're content to sit together in or out of their cage. They don't chew or mess up anything in the house like my other birds! Parrotlets are super intelligent - these guys both love listening to music and are super quick to catch onto new training. I believe Tunechi could learn to talk if someone put in the time to teach him.
They can come with or without a cage. Rehoming fee applies. Please contact me for further info. Thanks!
