Description

NAUGATUCK, CT — The Naugatuck Police Department will participate in National Night Out this summer for the first time, and the department is seeking donations from the public to help get the event off the ground. This year's National Night Out is scheduled for Aug. 3, and though it is free to attend, some funding is needed for food and other items. "For this event to be a success, we are looking for generous donations from our community," Naugatuck police wrote on Facebook. "If you, or your business would be interested in making a donation, or would like more information, please contact Officer Durette, at [email protected]." National Night Out is a community-building campaign held each year "that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie." The Naugatuck edition will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 3 at Linden Park on North Main Street, and in addition to food, the event also will feature games, a raffle and demonstrations by the department's K-9 unit, Honor Guard, Motorcycle unit, and others. For more information, check out the Facebook post below, or visit the National Night Out website.
