Press release from Westfield Public Schools: June 24, 2021 Many Westfield High School students received recognition for their achievements in worldlanguages this year. Eighty-three students recently were inducted into the National HonorSocieties for French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese, with 20 excelling in French, 40 in Spanish, 9in Italian, and 14 in Chinese. Additionally, 90 WHS seniors attained the Seal of Biliteracy, anaward granted to students who attain proficiency in two or more languages by high schoolgraduation. "We celebrate our students' accomplishments with pride," says Enrique Pincay, Supervisor of K-12 World Languages/ELL. "Although our students have experienced unique challengesthroughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they continued to consistently perform well in the Seal ofBiliteracy assessments, and to meet the criteria to be inducted into the National HonorSocieties.
