Himalayan Pet Supply is accepting applications for a Shipping Associate. We are looking for someone who is willing to work for a small (but rapidly growing) company. This Shipping Associate must be able to work under limited supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled work and perform related duties as assigned. Employees will be working in a food manufacturing facility to box and ship out our product. Job description: Shipping Manager Reports to: Director of Logistics/Vendor Relations Job purpose: Manages shipping and fulfillment personnel and logistic systems and direct daily operations. Provides assistance to the shipping department and performs daily shipping duties when needed. Job responsibilities (including but not limited to): 1. Controls the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products 2. Oversees warehouse, inventory control, material handling, customer service, transportation and planning workers 3. Hires, trains and evaluates employee 4. Prepares worker schedules and ensures shipping and fulfillment workers follow safety rules 5. Prepares reports for upper management 6. Negotiates shipping and supplier costs 7. Works to improve the efficiency of the company’s logistics and distribution 8. Perform daily shipping task 9. Pull, pack and ship finished goods; small packages & LTL orders 10. Report and replace any defective items prior to packing 11. Create shipping labels and Bill of Lading 12. Prepare and paste labels on shipments for small packages and LTL orders 13. Ensure that all transactions are recorded in the shipment log on a daily basis 14. Track all shipments 15. Make sure that shipments are properly loaded onto the carriers vehicle in a safe and timely manner 16. Ensure that boxes are properly packed and labeled 17. Operate forklift when needed 18. Handle monthly cycle counting 19. Handle year-end and general inventory procedures 20. Generate daily, weekly, monthly & yearly report 21. Report directly to Logistics Manager 22. Manages the order fulfillment process including order entry, administration, and shipping 23. Oversees the order tracking process and ensure orders are processed in accordance with the organization’s standards 24. Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost 25. Organize task and resources to complete projects 26. Assists in hiring of shipping and fulfillment personnel 27. Trains and evaluates shipping and fulfillment personnel Job Type: Full-time
