About this Job The ADEFUA Cultural Education Workshop is now accepting applications for interns! Our organization is focused on providing up-beat interactive music and dance presentations to the public while sharing rich traditions from West African cultures and your involvement will allow us to reach more members of our community and engage with new people. The ADEFUA Cultural Education Workshop provides programs that: • Work towards building capacity within global communities that educate and empower youth and families through the engagement of cultural music, song, and dance. • Facilitate a connectedness that enhances academics and family involvement. • Make drum, dance, and culturally responsive programming accessible for those in our community. Some of your duties in this internship are: • Assessing & inputting data • Developing marketing strategies • Expanding your network within the community • Support ADEFUA Cultural Education Workshop and Kouyate Arts in strengthening relationships with community partners. Some of the benefits of being an intern include: • 6 Month Membership to all ADEFUA events • An internal experience of ADEFUA’s West African Arts and Cultural Programs • Upon Completion of Internship – opportunities for future paid employment within ADEFUA. The COVID-19 Pandemic has dramatically impacted our programming, but we are now back up providing classes for both youth & adults. About Adefua Cultural Education Workshop Adefua Cultural Education Workshop is a non-profit Organization that is central to youth and families within and surrounding Seattle communities. We provide various interactive West African experience activities year-round that engage and serve, both academically and socially, to all generations. A newly affiliated partnership with Kouyate Arts has been governed to work towards building capacity within global communities that educate and empower youth and families through the engagement of cultural music, song, and dance.
