Description
MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police received a call Wednesday for a road rage incident at West Bridge Street and McGregor Street.
Police were advised, while en route, that a driver allegedly pointed a gun at another driver.
The caller told police he was in traffic and had honked at another driver because he was not moving. Immediately after he honked the horn, a driver got out of an SUV and walked towards the man, pointing a gun at him.
Soon after the report came in, a responding Manchester police officer spotted an SUV matching the description the caller provided. Additional units responded to the area and the vehicle was spotted on Interstate 293 south and proceeded onto the F.E. Everett Turnpike. Officers stopped the vehicle on the turnpike just after the Route 101 exit in Bedford.
Manchester police blocked the roadway and secured the person in the vehicle and New Hampshire State Police responded to assist. The southbound side of the F.E. Everett Turnpike was shut down for about 10 minutes and then all but one lane opened.
MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel said police took Demetrius Taylor, 27, of Litchfield into custody. He was charged with criminal threatening and was also found to have an outstanding warrant from Hooksett. He was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday and no bail status is known at this time.
Patch will update if additional information becomes available.
