LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Public Library is seeking volunteers interested in helping adults learn to read. No previous experience is necessary and the library said it will prepare people for remote and in-person tutoring. Pairs usually meet for one- to two-hour meetings once or twice per week. "The results are positively life-changing for an adult who has struggled, and you'll likely be amazed at what you learn along the way," the library said. Literacy training helps equip adults to help their kids with homework, apply for jobs, write letters, study for driver's license exams and more, the library said. Three-part training sessions take place from 10 a.m. to noon on July 12, 14 and 19. Anyone seeking more information can email [email protected] or call 925-373-5507.
