Press release from the Wright County Government:
June 24, 2021
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the State Fire Marshal's Office are warning Minnesotans about the dangers of illegal fireworks this coming Fourth of July holiday weekend. On average, about 75 people are hospitalized with fireworks-related injuries in Minnesota and, of those, approximately 40 percent are age 19 or younger.
In Minnesota, very few fireworks are legal. The most common fireworks – firecrackers, bottle rockets, missiles, Roman candles and mortars/shells – are all illegal in Minnesota. With the fire concerns throughout the state due to the ongoing drought, emphasis is being placed on recognizing that sky lanterns/celebration lanterns have always been illegal in Minnesota.
