Description

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Mendota Heights will receive an organic drop-off site at Mendakota Park July 16, Dakota County said. Residents will be able to drop off food scraps and paper towels at the sites for free, the county said. Residents will also be able to drop off dairy and meat products, unlike backyard composting, according to the county. The county said it is also adding a new site in Burnsville. Each week, over 10,000 pounds of food scraps are collected from the five existing sites in the county and kept out of landfills, the county said. Residents who register to participate will receive compostable bags and composting tips, the county said. You can learn more and register here.
